8,850 meters is the height of Mount Everest - the tallest mountain in the world.  Climbing Mount Everest is not for everyone, but we all have our Everest in life - be it a major goal or even a major obstacle or challenge we encounter.   To some people like me, mountains seem to have this mystical power that captures the human spirit and inspires us to pursue the goal of standing on top. The simplistic goal of climbing a mountain is symbolic of the desire of humans to pursue goals, accomplish great things, and to be part of the forward march of humanity constantly marching onwards and upwards to newer and greater things. 

After summiting Mount Everest on May 23, 2010, I decided to create this site as a means to share a collection of information on mountaineering to serve mountaineers and those interested in learning about mountaineering.  The site includes information on Mount Everest and many other mountains around the world, general information on mountaineering, Gear and equipment information, and Photo Albums.  With the site being relatively new I will continue to be adding and updating so come back and there will surely be updates.
